Positioned between the house and studio, the garden is viewed and experienced from both dwellings.

A curvilinear hardscape for softness, fluidity and a sense of movement is juxtaposed against the rectangular form of the pool and monolithic barbeque bench/bar.

Functionality – a hit up wall, basketball ring and cut-out marking the access point to a water tank beneath the paving – is incorporated seamlessly and elegantly.

An elevated yet understated aesthetic is achieved through the materiality of the pool fence, paving, pool tiles and boundary treatments.

Seasonality, screening, shade, texture and softening of the built form were key considerations for planting.
